Uttarayan also known as Makar Sankranti is a very auspicious festival in India. People of all kinds celebrate this festival by flying kites with zeal and happiness. It is loved especially by children. We are very fortunate to be in a good state of well-being but the same does not go for some children. The cancer-stricken kids unfortunately would not be able to enjoy Uttarayan this year with the same zeal. To lift their spirits up the members of Lions Brilliance Shantigram and Lions Satellite celebrated Uttarayan with the cancer-stricken kids at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
Kites along with vuvuzela horns and "Save Bachpan" bags were distributed to the kids. The theme of the event was "Sapna" (dream). The kids wrote their respective dreams on the kites handed to them hoping some day their dream would get fulfilled. Nonetheless, hope they get well by god's grace.
