Childhood Cancer Awareness Walkathon (13th February, 2021)

"Cancer is a word, not a sentence"

We all are familiar with the devastating and crumbling effects of cancer. Cancer is a disease which kills you from the inside. One needs a lot of will power and hope for fighting against this rueful disease. We are fortunate enough to have been born healthy but the same does not apply to everyone. Some kids are born with the disease or acquire it during their early years of childhood. To uplift the spirits of the kids and to spread awareness about childhood cancer, we held a procession and a visit to the child cancer ward at M.P. Shah Cancer Hospital.

In the beginning, a march with banners was held to spread awareness about childhood cancer. We then further proceeded towards the child cancer ward at the hospital. Kits which consisted of chocolates, drawing books, a cap and some packets of "chocos" (chocolate cereals) were distributed to the kids. It was not only soothing and heart warming to see a smile glow up on the faces of the kids but also really fulfilling to see that we could lend a hand in their fight against cancer.

Special thanks to Lion Roopa Shah (Director Childhood Cancer) for allowing us to be a part of this lovely and engrossing initiative.

Life that seemed to be big-sized is now thriving on a small machine. Its a fight against death from home with only your family members beside you. You...
