India Fights From Home

"Survive, Survive and Survive" - This has been and continues to be the sole motto of all of us as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to take a toll on our lives.  People are surviving by the mere mercy of oximeter bound to their fingertips. Life that seemed to be big-sized is now thriving on a small machine. The pandemic has once again risen to its utmost potential and has now become even more dangerous with no beds available in the hospitals, non-availability of doctors over phone calls, shortage of basic oral medicines and no signs of remdesivir injection in the pharmacies and with a waiting time of over 36 hours for a government ambulance (104, 108).Even if you get your own private ambulance with hefty amounts of money, you have to wait for over a period of no less than 8 hours in the queue outside hospital; you can consider yourself very lucky if you succeed in getting an ambulance with oxygen. Its a fight against death from home with only your family members beside you. You

A Tribute To our Lovely Mothers, Maidens and Daughters

"Give A Girl The Right Shoes and She Can Conquer The World" What do we feel when we hear the word "woman"? Emotions of content and care take on our inner selves when we hear the word "woman". Women are god's best creations. A mother, through all hardships and sacrifices, takes care of her children; a daughter, full of loving and kind nature, takes care of her brother and plays the role of a miniature-mother. Women bear the most excruciating pain just to give life to a new progeny. A token of gratitude for the blessings showered upon us by our most dearly god-like creatures can never be expressed in words.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Walkathon (13th February, 2021)

"Cancer is a word, not a sentence" We all are familiar with the devastating and crumbling effects of cancer. Cancer is a disease which kills you from the inside. One needs a lot of will power and hope for fighting against this rueful disease. We are fortunate enough to have been born healthy but the same does not apply to everyone. Some kids are born with the disease or acquire it during their early years of childhood. To uplift the spirits of the kids and to spread awareness about childhood cancer, we held a procession and a visit to the child cancer ward at M.P. Shah Cancer Hospital.

Lets Go Ride!

"Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bike”                                                                         -  John F Kennedy Cycling is one of the most accessible sports in the world .  It’s  also a sport which gives anyone who takes to two wheels an enormous sense of freedom. Leaving the stresses of daily life and pedaling away without a care in the world, whether it’s in your local lanes or high in the mountains miles from civilization. There’s little that can beat the beautiful simplicity of a bike ride.

Sapno Ki Udaan

Uttarayan also known as Makar Sankranti is a very auspicious festival in India. People of all kinds celebrate this festival by flying kites with zeal and happiness. It is loved especially by children. We are very fortunate to be in a good state of well-being but the same does not go for some children. The cancer-stricken kids unfortunately would not be able to enjoy Uttarayan this year with the same zeal. To lift their spirits up the members of Lions Brilliance Shantigram and Lions Satellite celebrated Uttarayan with the cancer-stricken kids at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.

Celebrating Independence Day with the Poor Ones

"India will get freedom only when its citizens get freedom from  Poverty  and  Hunger " It’s now been 74 years of Independence. But even after seven decades of freedom, we are yet to experience it in a real sense. Free we are from the hold of Britishers , but are we free from the clutches of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy ? Definitely not. It is really sad. A lot needs to be done by the nation and the people to eradicate the same.
